It is a fact of life that every person experiences constipation during their lifetime. Some people may just need a little diet change to get the digestive system functioning properly again. Others may require more drastic measures like laxatives or enemas. Before any medicines are used to relieve constipation, it is a better idea to try eating some foods for constipation relief.

Foods that are high in fiber, can help relieve constipation. It may take several hours or even a day before the high fiber foods can do their work, so it is important to be patient. It is best to try and eat high fiber foods throughout the day, and not at just one sitting. Drinking plenty of water with and between meals can also help soften the stool, and make it easier to pass.

Green leafy vegetables like spinach, are high in fiber and can help get a sluggish digestive system moving again. Raw vegetables have more fiber than cooked or canned vegetables. Brussels sprouts, peas and green beans mixed into a salad are a healthy low fat meal that is perfect for any diet.

Fruits like prunes, bananas, and peaches are high in fiber and taste great as well. A nice bowl of whole bran cereal topped with berries makes a tasty, high fiber meal to get the day started right. Oranges and pears are also great choices.

Whole wheat products like pasta and bread are also high in fiber. White bread can actually cause constipation and should be avoided. Nuts and grains are great foods to eat throughout the day. They are high in fiber and give energy boosts. Pinto beans can be added to salads or ate as a meal. Beans in general do cause extra gas and bloating but are high in fiber.

Fish high in omega fatty acids are also a great way to relieve constipation. However, it is not recommended a person eats more than 3 fish meals a week. Trout, tuna, and salmon can be prepared in a variety of fashions and provide just what the body needs. These foods as part of a normal diet can help a person avoid irritating and painful constipation.

Now more so people are getting more in tune with their bodies. Trying to get all the bad toxins out of their bodies.Giving yourself a home colonic can help you to achieve this. There are some really big reasons to give yourself a home colonic to help you one of the biggest reasons is to help you absorb more nutrients and also helps you with your muscle tone.

There are some symptoms that you should look for before you think about giving yourself a home colonic.

If you have any of these symptoms then you should consider giving yourself a home colonic:

fatigue
constipation
bloating
gas or bad breathe
feeling like you have something on your tongue
body odor
skin problems
lower back pain
depression
poor memory
lethargic

Now these seems like symptoms that are common in a lot of people but that could be the main problem. A lot of people over look these problems and just relate them to something that occurs everyday.

If you are looking to do a home colonic then you might want to look into going with alternative medicine because this method is not recognized by the average doctor.

Now because home colonics are becoming more popular there are a wide variety of colonic kits that you can get online. These will help you with detoxifying your body. The other option is you can get a reusable enema bag online and fill it with water and probiotics and insert it into the rectal area. This will help fill up the colon and flush it out.

There are something that you should consider doing after you do a home colonic

drink some fluids a half hour after doing this procedure but not drink any fluids while you are doing the home colonic.

Avoid anything with caffeine in it this kills all bacteria in the colon

Avoid anything that you would make with flour the body has a hard time breaking down yeast in the colon

Never force yourself to do a number 2 you should always do this naturally. If you feel that you are not going enough through out a week, then there are some natural ways to take care of this.

These kits that you will get online will help you preform a home colonic or you can get a enema bag that will work the same way. This maybe a little uncomfortable to do at home at first, but with time this will become easier and will help you get out all those terrible toxins in your system.

Colon cleasing can be performed in a number of ways. However, there are certain ways to cleanse a colon to increase its effectiveness. First of all, you should eliminate or severely limit the amount of sugar and gluten in your system, especially if you are doing a colon clease because of candida albicans. Candida albicans is a diploid fungus that resides naturally in your body. Sometimes, this fungus can overproduce and cause many adverse symptoms such as migraines, yeast infections, gastritis and even autoimmune diseases (i.e. fibromyaliga). If you have candida overgrowth, eliminating sugar and gluten will help control the production of candida. Otherwise, it will be hard to get rid of excess candida as candida feeds on sugar and yeast.

Secondly, eat lots of vegetables as they contain digestive enzymes which can kill candida. Juicing or drinking the juices of raw vegetables ensures that you are getting the enzymes. Some of the enzymes can be lost in the cooking processed in the case of frozen or canned vegetables. Vegetables create phagocytosis in the body. This is where white blood cells eliminate unbalanced red blood cells (ones that contain fungus, toxins and parasites) and eliminate them.

Though colon cleases can be done with herbs, spices and certain foods, it will save you time if you purchase a colon cleasing kit from the health food store. These kits have a mixture of these foods, spices and herbs that will help eliminate candida, toxins and parasites from your body. You will mix either a powder or syrup in water or your favorite beverage and drink the mixture each day. A typical colon cleansing program lasts about one month. Your other option is undergo colonic irrigation. This is the process of cleansing your colon with ozonated water. The treatments are usually administered by a colon hydrotherapist at an office location. However, there are home kits available that usually run about $300. The actual sessions will last about 40 minutes. During this time, you will keep the water constantly running through all three sections of your large intestines: Descending, transverse and ascending. If your symptoms are severe, you may be doing colonic irrigation several times per week for several months.

Also, while colon cleasing with your method of choice, you should take probiotics. These are “friendly” bacteria that can replenish the natural bacteria in your colon, which are usually eroded during a candida albicans outbreak.

This is a question that is always asked by people who have constipation problems. Today we’ll explore in depth and shed some light on bananas & constipation.

The paradox with bananas and constipation is that, banana can help relieve constipation and at the same it can be the cause of constipation.

The number of bananas you consume is directly related to the effect they will have in your body. Two bananas consumed per day is the recommended portion. A good banana ready for consumption should be well ripen, bright yellow with black spots. Eating bananas this way is healthy and will supply soluble fiber and pottasium. The fiber is in form of pectin that leads to bowel movement and thus prevent constipation.

Bananas also contain an enzyme base compound called fructooligosaccharide that aids in the banana breakdown. This helps to prevent the bananas from fermenting in the stomach and in this way evade constipation occurrence.

So what leads to bananas & constipation in people

Constipation is mainly caused by eating an unripe bananas. Unripe banana is hard for the body to digest. Chunks of the raw banana will cause blockage in the digestive tract. The blockage is what causes the discomfort associated with constipation.

Unripe bananas are also high in starch which may also contribute to constipation. One such type of banana is the plantain from west Africa. It is very important that you use the plantain when fully ripen, if not then it can lead to unwanted results in the stomach.

Eating more than six bananas a day, without proper hydration will lead to banana constipation in some people. This is due to a high starch content in the stomach from the fruit. It can also be due to the pectin. Pectin is a binding element. It will absorb water from the digestive tract leading to a hard poop. This is the reason why when a child is having constipation the doctors normally recommend that bananas are eliminated from the diet.

It is therefore important to stay informed and avoid banana constipation. If you have hard bowel movements then it is advisable that you can steer away from bananas for some time.

Are you still confused about constipation and it causes then follow this link to find out more about how you can relieve your constipation.

Constipation can be a painful problem but don’t worry as there are many ways to provide you relief for constipation. Regular constipation at early age should be treated immediately because it could lead to severe digestive disorders and other health problems.

Constipation refers to irregular bowel movement that causes pain, strain and dry excretion, which is very painful. It is not a very harmful condition, but it certainly can can become one if you do not get it treated soon enough. Studies have revealed that severe constipation can even become the cause of poor absorption of nutrients and intestinal cancer.

Hence, in order to find a relief for constipation, there are a few steps that you must follow. The most important thing to remember here is that you should only consume food items that have positive health benefits for the body. Consuming proper food including milk, dairy products and vegetables in a balanced proportion can prevent constipation or any digestive problem. Vegetables are rich in fiber and nutrients, and we all know how important fiber is to combat a problem like constipation. Moreover, you also have to drink a lot of fluids including fruit juices and water. Water, obviously is the main constituent of the prevention program. Therefore, you are advised to drink at least 7-8 glasses of water every day. Water hydrates your inner body and enables the suitable flow of moisture in intestinal region.

Another thing to be added in your daily activities is regular exercise, which not only helps treat your condition, but also has an overall positive affect on your body. You can choose one of the several cardiovascular exercises such as brisk walking, running, swimming, aerobics or perhaps dancing. These activities keep your digestive system running, thereby, providing relief for constipation.

Nowadays, constipation has become a major problem for most of the people due to increased consumption of fast foods, canned food and junk foods. All these food groups are disastrous for your digestive system. In order to avoid the excruciating pain that comes with constipation, you must stay away from unhealthy food and stick to a proper diet that consists of all the essential nutrients.

For successful relief for constipation, you should try healthy solutions such as almonds, vegetables, fruits like apricot, herbs such as coconut, dandelion and avocados, rather than using laxatives on a continuous basis. You can consume the former food items in the form of salads, dips or soups according to your taste.

Having regular bowel movements is important to one’s overall health and energy levels. The bowels keep digested food moving through the system and regular elimination of the body’s waste materials is essential to a strong immune system and ongoing good health. Very often people work against their own health interests by eating a combination of too many foods that cause constipation or a diet completely filled with foods that are very low in fiber content yet very high in fat content.

Many dairy foods rank among the top foods that cause constipation. These include cheeses of all kinds, milk and products made with milk such as ice cream and food products featuring cheese such as pizza.

Meats such as beef and pork are also responsible for causing constipation because consumption of these foods on a regular basis tends to slow down the digestive process. A person eating a steady diet of fast food cheeseburgers, for example, combines two food groups that tend to clog up the digestive tract, with constipation the result.

Eating too many starchy foods, including potatoes, corn, pasta and bread, will result in irregular bowel movements and bouts of constipation.

Processed foods that contain high amounts of sugar and fats, such as packaged cookies, pies, cakes and pastries, as well as convenience foods such as potato chips, french fries and frozen TV dinners, are also responsible for slowing down the digestive system and causing constipation.

There are many healthful ways to replace foods that cause constipation with high-fiber food choices that will keep the bowels moving regularly. These include fresh fruits and vegetables including apples, pears, carrots and celery in place of processed low-fiber and high fat snack foods.

Enjoy a slice of fresh melon or a baked apple rather than a slice of apple pie with crust for dessert. Instead of drinking whole milk, enjoy a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice blended with soda water for a more festive beverage.

Eliminating the problem foods that cause constipation from the diet rather than gorging on these and then living on chemical laxitives, is the smartest way to keep the body’s digestive tract doing its job on a regular basis.

True, pregnancy is a beautiful and miraculous experience. Realistically though, with all the beauty attached to it comes several unpleasant side-effects.

In addition to the weight gain, mood swings, and numerous other problems pregnancy may present the future mother-to-be, constipation is probably the most common complication experienced by many.

* Pregnancy And Constipation – What’s The Link?

There are several reasons why pregnant women experience constipation.

1.) Increased intra-abdominal pressure brought on by the growing uterus.

2.) Due to hormonal changes, food tends to move more slowly through the digestive system.

3.) A poor diet lacking sufficient fiber (which aids in pushing food through the digestive system, absorbing water and easing defecation).

4.) Food allergies.

5.) Tension and stress.

6.) Synthetic iron supplements that are often prescribed during a woman’s pregnancy.

7.) Gluten sensitivities.

* I’m Pregnant And Constipated – Now What Do I Do?

Pregnant and constipated? – There are several things you can do to alleviate your symptoms such as:

A. Change Your Diet.
At the risk of sounding cliché’, it’s a true fact that you are what you eat. So it’s best to stick to a diet consisting of fiber-rich foods such as fresh fruits – with their peelings – and raw or lightly steamed vegetables, baked potatoes with their skins, and whole grain breads and cereals (this link provides a detailed fiber-rich food list http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/high-fiber-foods/NU00582).

In addition, avoid foods that are largely made with white processed flour, white or polished rice, spaghetti and chocolate. If you have a gluten sensitivity, opt for gluten-free breads, cereals and pastas (http://www.the-gluten-free-chef.com/gluten-free-food-list.html provides a gluten-free food list).

Reduce your dairy intake, and drink plenty of water and 100% fruit juice – prune juice especially.

B. Get Active.
A regular exercise routine is also a great way of relieving constipation. Squat routines and simple walking and stretching can work wonders (always consult your physician before you begin any exercise routine).

C. Alternative Therapies.
The Website www.babycenter.com offers some great alterative treatments for the pregnant mother-to-be suffering from constipation:

Acupuncture or Shiatsu – Both of these therapies are known to help release blocked energy.

Aromatherapy Massage with essential oils such as lavender, or almond oil, may help relieve chronic constipation.

D. When All Else Fails.
When these self-help suggestions don’t cut it, contact your physician to look into other methods of relieving your constipation.

Sadly, pregnancy and constipation tend to go hand-in-hand and can be a cause of much discomfort for the mother-to-be.

Hopefully, with these simple suggestions, mothers-to-be everywhere will find ways to combat this all to common problem.

Being constipated can be extremely uncomfortable and is a problem for many people. One may feel bloated and frustrated when they try to go and just are not able to. Fortunately there are ways to help with constipation. Here is a look at some of the things people can try to get help with constipation.

The first step involves how much water you drink. Chances are if you are not getting enough water you are likely going to get constipated easily. Be sure to drink at least 64 oz. of water each day. An easy way to ensure that you are getting enough water is to put it in a water bottle and carry it with you throughout the day while you drink from it. If you do not like the taste of plain water try adding some lemon or a little bit of fruit juice with it and serve it cold as this can have a great effect on the flavor and help give it a little something for those who do not normally like to drink water.

Secondly, one should look at their diet. If your diet does not contain any fiber or protein, you are at a higher risk of getting constipated. By adding fruits, vegetables, and beans to your diet, you will have an easier time getting help with constipation and get back on track to being regular. Another excellent item to add to your list of foods that help with constipation is yogurt. Yogurt is excellent for getting one regular and more importantly, keeping them regular. By simply eating one small container a day it can make a massive difference in how one feels.

Next you can also add fiber supplements to your diet. These come in the form of powders or caplets you can chew. Many of them have nice flavors these days or can easily be dissolved into your drink whether it be water, juice or coffee. They sell these supplements at most stores and at most drug stores and they are fairly inexpensive.

For more severe cases and those who need help with constipation should consider a colon cleansing program.

An impacted colon can be a result of chronic constipation or an indication of a more serious medical problem. It is a dangerous and life threatening medical problem that must be resolved quickly. An impacted colon can lead to an expanded colon(mega colon). If traditional methods do not work to remove the impacted fecal matter, emergency surgery may be needed.

A person may not be getting the nutrients they need from the food they are eating if the colon is lined with fecal matter. This prevents the body from being able to properly digest food. A person may experience fatigue and have a general lack of energy. This is the result of the body not being able to get the nutrition it needs.

An impacted colon is the result of years of fecal matter building up along the colon walls. It causes the colon to have such a small opening, stool cannot move through the colon like it should. The symptoms associated with an impacted colon are easy to recognize, and there is usually plenty of time to fix the problem before it becomes a medical emergency.

One of the key indicators the colon is becoming a problem is constipation. A person may not be able to have a regular bowel movement for days or weeks. Bloating and abdominal pain may also accompany the constipation. If a person strains too hard while trying to have a bowel movement, it may cause hemorrhoids or rectal bleeding. If a person who has been constipated for several days or weeks has a watery stool it is a good indication, there is fecal impaction. The watery stool is leaked around the impaction, and is not actually a bowel movement.

A person may develop an impacted colon as a result of some medicines, prescription or non-prescription. Using over the counter anti-diarrhea medicines for a prolonged period of time can cause constipation. People who are bed ridden may be come constipated. A poor diet is a leading cause of digestive problems. A diet high in fiber, with lots of water is important to keep the digestive tract operating properly. If a person is constipated there are several things that can be done to try and clean out the colon naturally.

Constipation is having less than three bowel movements a week. It can also mean that the stools are dry, hard, small and difficult to pass. If you are constapated you might also find it painful to have a bowel movement and be bloated.

Constapation does not mean not having a bowel every day. Normal elimination for many people is only three movements a week so this is what the definition is based on. Constapation is not a disease and most everyone at some point is constipated. It can be caused by poor diet.

Many people self treat for constapation with over the counter laxatives. Millions and millions of dollars are spent yearly on them. Chronic constapation happens when there is not enough fiber in your diet, lack of activity, medications, irritable bowel syndrome, abuse of laxatives, ignoring the urge to have a bowel movement, dehydration, stroke, colon or rectal problems and problems with intestinal function.

Eating a high fiber diet and getting exercise will make it less likely for you to be constapated. You need about 20 to 35 grams of fiber daily but most Americans only get about 15 grams.

Taking certain medications, especially if you are older can cause constapation also. These include things like diuretics, iron supplements, antidepressants, anti spasmodics, anti Parkinson drugs, blood pressure drugs and pain medication. Sometimes pregnancy can slow down intestinal movement causing constapation because of changes in hormone levels.

Some conditions cause constipation also so if you have any of the following don’t be surprised to find yourself constipated. Multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, strokes, spinal cord injury, diabetes, uremia, hypothyroidism, lupus and scleroderma. If you have a history of color and/or rectal problems such as obstructions or scar tissue these can cause constipation also.

There are two types of constapation. Idiopathic, which means it does not respond to standard treatment and the origin is unknown and functional which is usually from problems with the actual structure of the anus and/or rectum.

Treatment of constipation depends on the cause, the level of severity and how long a person is constapated. A doctor can give you advice on how to eat a high fiber diet. These foods include things like beans, whole grains, cereal, fresh fruits, and vegetables. Life stype changes may also help. Doing things like drinking enough liquids, engaging in exercise daily and taking time to have a bowel movement, do not ignore the urge.

If you’re only mildly constipated you doctor probably won’t prescribe laxatives, they will recommend lifestyle changes. If your doctor does determine your constapation is more serious he may prescribe one of several types of laxatives. These include bulk-forming laxatives, which are the safest. They absorb the water in the intestine and make your stool softer and easier to pass. Stimulant laxatives, which cause contractions in the intestines and move the stool along. Stool softeners which moisten the stool and make it easier to pass. Osmotic laxatives cause fluids to pass though the colon in a special way that results in bowel distention and bowel movements.

If you become dependent on laxatives, like a dependency on any drug it will have to be stopped slowly. Your doctor can help you with this.
